Ah, summer! Best time of the year!
There's just not enough time to do everything! There's travel and events and home improvements and cookouts and music and canoeing and fishing and biking and camping and, and-
And sitting quietly with God. Being still in his presence. Getting my marching orders. Being inspired. Putting his will ahead of my own. Letting everything else go, if he says so.
In the middle of all I want to do in the all too fleeting summer months, I must be sure to keep my focus on God and make him my first priority. Paul said everything else is trash compared to that. I think he was right.
I intend to fully enjoy my summer and hope you will, too. And if we will keep Jesus in the middle of all of it, putting him and his will first, we will certainly have the best summer ever!

Upper Room Devotionals - The July/August Upper Rooms are now available at the church.
Outdoor Worship - Just a reminder that occasionally in the summer we will worship outside under the oaks. You will receive an email by the Friday before to let you know that we would be outside. We can always use help to set up and take down.
Lunch at the Lake - Diane Upton is hosting a potluck salad lunch for all women in the church at her home on the lake in Candlewick. The lunch is Wednesday, July 19 at 11:30 am. Please RSVP to her. Plan on bringing a salad to share. It doesn't have to be big, because there will be multiple salads to choose from. If you want to carpool meet at the church at 11:15. It will be a great time for food and fellowship.
July Project - In the month of July we would like to collect items for Carpenters Place. Our church has supported this ministry to the homeless before. Here is a list of what they need: *Men's reading glasses (1:00-3:00 strength),* Men's white t-shirts(sizes M-XL), *Men's boxers (sizes M-XL), Men's jeans (sizes 28-38), backpacks, bath towels, sugar, hot sauce, and garbage bags (33 and 55 gallon), The starred items are especially needed. You can bring any items and leave them in the bin in the fellowship room.
Thanks - Thanks to anyone who participated in some way in the Bed Build Project in June. Very much appreciated. Thanks to Judy and Ginny for hosting a brunch shower for Olivia and Ryland. They were definitely showered with many wonderful gifts! It was great to have such a good turnout. A very special thanks to our trustees who have been overseeing new landscaping at the church. Everything looks great!
Looking Ahead:
Charity Blanket Challenge - Do you knit or crochet? Jessica Boezem is challenging us to participate in making a blanket for charity by the end of October. It is a project that the store Michaels offers. Individuals would knit or crochet squares and they would be put together to create one big blanket. Talk to Jessica if you are interested.
