Friends-
Now we are in it up to our eyeballs- the 2016 presidential race. The candidates have been chosen, and the fight is on. You may have a candidate you totally support. Or you may be undecided, unsure, frustrated, confused, even anxious. I want to remind you of something...
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your way straight." (Proverbs 3:5,6)
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it; the world and all who dwell in it." (Psalm 24:1)
"We know that in all things, God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)
Never forget Who is in charge. Trust him. Pray. Then act as he leads.
The enemy would love to use politics or anything else to keep us from the unity God intends for us in Christ. We may differ. We may disagree strongly. But let's remember to keep our eyes on him, and love one another, no matter what.

8/4 - All You Care to Eat Pizza Fundraiser to support World Vision well. 5-8 PM under
the oaks.
8/18 - Community Dinner Serving - 5:30 PM - Poplar Grove Church
8/18 - Church Board Meeting - 7 PM - Fellowship Room - note new date for this month.
Saturdays - 8/13 - All City - All Congregations Picnic - YMCA Camp Winnebago - 2-6 PM - Food provided, activities planned. Talk to Gary if you are interested.
Other News
Well Update - All You Care to Eat Pizza Fundraiser is Thursday August 4 from 5-8 PM. Do you have your ticket yet? Have you invited family and friends to attend? There will be Wood fire pizza, Caesar Salad, drinks, and Homemade Pies! There will live music from Bruce Poulter and a silent auction. It is not too late to add something to the silent auction. We need lots of help, so talk to Colleen to see how you can help, or plan on staying for a meeting after church on July 31. For every $15 ticket sold, we will get $7.50. World Vision will double our donations! Coins in Jars will be collected during the service on August 21.
Baptism and Picnic Sunday - Plan on staying for a simple potluck picnic after the baptisms on Sunday August 21. Please bring a dish or two to pass for the picnic.
