Friends-
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" God speaking through the prophet (Isaiah 43:18,19) With every new year, I want to be sure that I am on the right track. I want to be sure that "tried and true" has not become a comfortable rut. Of course, we carry much forward from the year before. After all, it only ended a few hours ago! Still the advent of a new year brings a chance at a fresh start, a fresh way to look at things, a fresh way to be. That is my hope for me, for you, and for us as we start 2022. I pray that as a gathered people of God, we will endeavor as individuals and as a congregation to grow, to learn, be ready to follow our Leader wherever he leads us. To that end, I want to do something we have done many times- I want to challenge you to use this first week of the new year as a week of prayer. And I am going to keep it very, very simple. Here are the topics: Thanks. Praise. Concerns. People. That should cover most. Just pick one topic a day this week and find some time to pray on it. Some may require more than one time of prayer, so there are only four. I'm challenging us to this because I am convinced that our ministry grows as our prayer grows. And we have a much better chance to be doing things God's way when we talk things over with him. So listen, too! He may have something very particular to say to you... Thanks for considering this. Hope your new year gets off to a great start. Hope to see you soon!
