September at Caledonia Congregational Church

Friends-
In the long conversation Jesus had with his disciples before his betrayal and death, he told them, "I have much more to say to you, but you cannot bear it yet" (John 16:12)

That is a little bit of how I am feeling coming off of my sabbatical.  I am full of thoughts, ideas, and challenges.  I want to share all of them with you, knowing it will take some time.  It has been a great experience, and I so appreciate all of you who have been praying for us.  I want to thank everyone who has helped keep things moving in our absence.  It was a much appreciated and needed break.  It reminded me again strongly of the importance of Sabbath for all of us.  There's a reason God commands it.  He designed us, and knows we need breaks from our busy-ness, noise, and clutter.

You can count on hearing some of what I am learning as a result of this sabbatical.  But don't worry - I will hand it out in small doses.

I love you all and I'm glad to be back.  Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday.
Gary
