Happy 4th of July! I hope you have a fun and safe celebration of the founding of our nation. Just remember this: ultimately, our freedom does not come from a declaration, or a constitution, or a bill of rights. Those are all important for us as a nation, and I pray we will lift them up and live by them.
But they are in place to protect the freedom that God intends for all his children, and which he won for us by his death on the cross. By that one act, Jesus broke the power of sin, death, and the devil, and set us free to live life abundantly as his sons and daughters,
I love America, and I am forever grateful that I get to live here. AND I will never let loyalty to my nation or any other entity take precedence over my total devotion and loyalty to Jesus. He alone is the Truth, and the Truth sets us free.
Fireworks, Yes! Cookouts, Yes! Gathering with family and friends, Yes! And never forgetting that it was because Jesus said Yes! to his father's will, that we have the freedom we enjoy.
Love you all!
Gary
